Where the data comes from

Everything on this site comes from open Environment Agency data and one postcode lookup. None of it is ours, all of it is free, and it is credited here as its licence requires.

The datasets we use

Each map is read live for the point you check. We do not keep a copy of the maps; we keep the answer for seven days so that neighbours share it.

The Open Government Licence v3.0 allows commercial reuse provided the source is acknowledged. That is what the line above is for, and why it appears in the footer of every page and in every report we sell. The full licence text is published by The National Archives.

We are not affiliated with the Environment Agency, the Office for National Statistics or any local authority, and nothing on this site is an official record. For the official flood map and the long-term flood risk service, see GOV.UK.

If you think a map is wrong at your property, the mistake is in the source and we cannot change it. Report it to the Environment Agency, and tell us as well through the contact form.
